Two men died July 15 after a kayak overturned in a private pond in East Fort Worth and one of the men entered the water in an attempted rescue, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called at about 11:20 a.m. July 15 to a private pond near East Lancaster Avenue and Cooks Lane.
Fire officials said one man’s kayak overturned and a second man entered the water to try to rescue him. Crews recovered both men, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Published reporting identified the men as ages 20 and 60.
The men’s identities and what caused the kayak to overturn had not been released while the investigation continued.
