American Airlines and Tarrant County College have created a pathway connecting aviation-maintenance students with career opportunities at the airline.
Under the partnership, top candidates will receive priority access to interviews. Students will also have opportunities for mentorship, professional engagement and exposure to American’s maintenance facilities, according to the airline’s announcement of the agreement.
The arrangement gives TCC aviation-maintenance students several ways to learn about work at American beyond the priority interview access offered to leading candidates. Its other pieces focus on contact with professionals, guidance through mentorship and a closer look at the airline’s maintenance operations.
American says it employs more than 1,400 aviation-maintenance technicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Its total DFW workforce exceeds 37,000 employees.
That regional presence puts the new TCC pathway alongside one of North Texas’ largest aviation workforces, with the partnership specifically focused on students preparing for aviation-maintenance careers.
