Cockrell Hill Elementary renovation registered at $12.64 million in DeSoto

The state estimate and architect’s capped fee are separate figures, and the available records do not set a guaranteed construction schedule.

Published 1 minute read

A Texas state project registration lists the Cockrell Hill Elementary renovation in DeSoto at an estimated $12,638,579, adding a public-record milestone to the school district’s voter-approved facilities program.

What the two project figures cover

Registration TABS2026025920 marks the renovation as “Project Registered.” The state record labels the $12,638,579 figure as an estimated project cost; it does not establish a final construction contract or guaranteed schedule.

In a separate action, DeSoto ISD assigned WRA Architects to the renovation with a not-to-exceed architectural-services amount of $1,124,159. That cap applies to architectural services and is separate from the state registration’s estimated project cost.

Bond-program context

The Cockrell Hill Elementary renovation is part of DeSoto ISD’s voter-approved 2025 Proposition A facilities program. Together, the state registration and district records document the project estimate, the architect assignment and the bond program supporting the renovation, while leaving the final construction contract and schedule unsettled.
