Preliminary federal data show the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area had 274,600 jobs in mining, logging and construction in June 2026, up 2.4% from a year earlier.
The figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics metro-area table.
Fort Worth-area growth was higher
The Fort Worth-Arlington-Grapevine division recorded 92,200 jobs in the same combined category in June, according to its BLS division table. That was a 4.7% increase from a year earlier, compared with the wider DFW area’s 2.4% increase.
What the numbers measure
The category combines mining, logging and construction; it does not measure construction employment alone.
Both June figures are preliminary and not seasonally adjusted. The federal tables express employment in thousands of jobs, reported here as 274,600 for DFW and 92,200 for the Fort Worth-area division.
