Small wooden houses painted by Flower Mound community members during the 2026 Arts Festival now form the town’s “Home Is Where the Art Is” installation.
The display is at the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Road, and will remain there through the end of August.
How the community project took shape
The installation grew from a project open to residents across ages and experience levels. At a free workshop on Jan. 10, registered participants of all ages and artistic skill levels were invited to paint wooden houses for the project. Community members also painted the small houses during the Arts Festival, creating the pieces now assembled at the center.
The town has not specified how many people participated or given an exact date for removing the installation.
When to see the display
The Community Activity Center’s posted regular hours are:
- Monday-Thursday: 5 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Friday: 5 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday: 1-6 p.m.
Another temporary Flower Mound exhibit, five quilts displayed at the Senior Center, is also scheduled to remain on view through the end of August.
