A $1.25 million new-construction registration for a Weatherford hotel marks a new step in the Cotten-Bratton redevelopment, which city materials describe as a two-phase project combining a boutique hotel with restaurants, retail and event space.

What the registration says

The state project record lists “Hotel Cotten Bratton” as privately proposed new construction with an estimated cost of $1.25 million. Its status is “Project Registered.”

How it fits the broader redevelopment

Weatherford economic-development material describes the Cotten-Bratton redevelopment as a two-phase project incorporating a boutique hotel, restaurants, retail and event space.

The property’s website identifies the site as the restored 1883 Cotten-Bratton building at 117 College Ave. and advertises the Middleton Hotel as coming soon.

The reviewed records do not establish that the registered Hotel Cotten Bratton project will operate as the Middleton Hotel. The two names appear in separate records without a confirmed connection.

Another recent state registration covered a $1.2 million IMAGE Studios new-construction project in Mansfield.
