Hearings on Karmelo Anthony’s pending requests to recuse Judge John Roach Jr. and obtain a new trial are reportedly scheduled for Aug. 19 and Aug. 20, respectively, at the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney.
The Aug. 19 recusal hearing is reported to begin at 9 a.m. Judge Sid Harle is scheduled to hear that motion. The new-trial motion is reportedly set for a separate hearing Aug. 20.
Neither recusal nor a new trial has been granted. The hearings concern pending requests, following Anthony’s filing of the two motions and prosecutors’ response to the new-trial claims.
