Kaufman County Emergency Services District No. 6 has registered an estimated $14 million project for a new Fire Station No. 4 in Forney, according to a state architectural-barriers filing.
The filing identifies the project as new construction but does not provide several details residents would need to assess its funding, timeline or operational effects.
Earlier planning involved Forney
The registration follows a July 15, 2025 Forney City Council item that sought approval of a cost-sharing agreement with ESD No. 6. The proposed work covered a fire-station feasibility study, future station planning, resource allocation and a community-risk assessment. Forney’s proposed share was capped at $49,950.
The council record establishes the scope and proposed city contribution for that planning work. It does not establish that the newly registered $14 million project will use the same funding arrangement.
Who the district serves
ESD No. 6 says it provides fire protection, rescue and medical response in unincorporated areas outside Forney. That service area gives the station project significance beyond the Forney city limits.
