Recalled iceberg lettuce reached Texas food-service customers and select Walmart stores, but Texas was not among the nine states with outbreak cases as of July 24.
The FDA’s outbreak update reported 1,947 illnesses, at least 98 hospitalizations and no deaths across those nine states.
Which Marketside products to check
The recalled retail products include four Marketside lettuce packages:
- Iceberg Salad, 12 ounces
- Iceberg Salad, 24 ounces
- Shredded Lettuce, 8 ounces
- Shredded Lettuce, 16 ounces
Check for listed best-if-used-by dates from July 18 through Aug. 3, 2026. The products were sold at select Walmart stores in Texas. Recalled iceberg lettuce was also distributed to food-service customers in the state, so the recall is not limited to packages bought from store shelves.
What to do with recalled lettuce
Do not eat recalled lettuce. The FDA advises consumers to discard it or seek a refund.
Consumers should also clean and sanitize surfaces that contacted the lettuce. Anyone who develops symptoms should contact a health care provider. The recall notice provides the affected product details and consumer instructions.
What the investigation has established
No product sample has produced a confirmed positive Cyclospora result, according to the FDA. The agency said epidemiological and traceback evidence continues to support the recall.
