Mansfield residents can drop off household hazardous waste and electronics at the city’s Environmental Collection Center from Aug. 6 through Aug. 8.
The Aug. 6 collection runs from 3 to 7 p.m. The city calendar lists the same hours for Aug. 7 and hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Aug. 8.
Location and residency requirement
The Environmental Collection Center is at 616 S. Wisteria St. The service is free to Mansfield residents who bring proof of residency, such as a Texas driver’s license or utility bill.
Business, commercial and industrial waste is not accepted. Residents with questions about eligibility or an item that is not listed can call 817-728-3655.
Accepted household hazardous waste
The city’s hazardous-material list includes:
- Aerosol cans
- Batteries and light bulbs
- Automotive fluids and oil filters
- Household chemicals
- Lawn and pool chemicals
- Paint products
- Used cooking oil
Smoke detectors, ammunition, explosives, fire extinguishers, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, propane or butane tanks, and radioactive materials are not accepted.
Accepted electronics
The city’s electronics list includes televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, printers, phones, tablets, microwaves, gaming systems and various small electronic devices.
Large household appliances, items containing Freon and gas-powered equipment are excluded.
