Students may opt out of a $23-per-credit-hour materials bundle; fall drop and withdrawal deadlines are September 8 and October 30.

Published 1 minute read

Rockwall ISD students taking Collin College credit courses in fall 2026 will be automatically enrolled in a course-materials program that costs $23 per credit hour in addition to tuition, according to the district’s current dual-credit guidance. Students may opt out of the Cougar Book Bundle.

A July 13 Rockwall ISD board agenda listed consideration of a Collin College dual-credit partnership agreement beginning in fall 2026. The available public record does not establish what action the board took or whether agreement terms changed.

Drop and withdrawal deadlines

For fall 2026, the district lists September 8 as the deadline to drop a course and October 30 as the deadline to withdraw.

A course dropped by September 8 will not appear on the student’s college transcript. A withdrawal completed by October 30 will appear as a W.

Steps students must complete

Students seeking to drop or withdraw must first complete the Rockwall ISD form and obtain signatures from the student, a parent and the home-campus counselor. The form must then be submitted to the district contact identified in the district’s drop and withdrawal instructions before the student completes Collin College’s request form.

Career and technical pathways

Rockwall ISD lists Collin College dual-credit pathways in health science, automotive technology, welding and HVAC. Transportation is available for students who need it for the Allen-based automotive, welding and HVAC programs, according to the district’s CTE program information.
