The filing window for Kaufman County’s Nov. 3 appraisal-district board election closes at 5 p.m. Aug. 17, 2026. According to Kaufman County’s election page, filing began July 18.
Candidates need to complete a two-office process before the filing deadline.
Candidate filing checklist
- Select a place. The ballot application must identify at-large Place 1, Place 2 or Place 3.
- Submit the ballot application. The ballot application goes to the county clerk or elections administrator.
- Send the separate acknowledgment. The signed acknowledgment of directors’ duties goes separately to the appraisal district’s chief appraiser.

Kaufman County lists Oct. 5, 2026, as the voter-registration deadline for the Nov. 3 election.
