Three Parker County appraisal-board seats are set for the November ballot

Three terms expire Dec. 31, and prospective candidates should verify an apparent county-name error before submitting filing or ethics paperwork.

Published 1 minute read

Parker County has scheduled a Nov. 3, 2026 election for Places 1, 2 and 3 on the appraisal-district board, according to the county’s official election notices.

The terms of Place 1 director Donna Dickinson, Place 2 director William S. Shatford and Place 3 director Joe Tison end Dec. 31, 2026.

How the board is structured

The appraisal-district board has nine members: five appointed directors, three countywide elected directors and the county tax assessor-collector, who serves as an ex-officio director.

What prospective candidates must do

Before submitting a ballot application, a prospective candidate must file an acknowledgment of appraisal-board duties with the chief appraiser.

The county’s candidate information page lists a $200 filing fee or a petition alternative. It also says candidate packets are available from the Elections Office.

Verify the filing authority

The Parker County candidate page repeatedly names Ellis County as the application and ethics-filing authority. That discrepancy is unresolved.

Prospective candidates should verify the correct filing authority with Parker County Elections before submitting an application or ethics paperwork.
