A new state registration lists Bobtown Auto Repair Center in Garland as a $250,000 new-construction project.
The filing follows the Garland City Council’s approval of a 30-year specific-use provision and concept plan for minor automobile repair at 4134 Bobtown Road. The council approved the plan by a 6-3 vote on Nov. 18, 2025.
What was approved for the site
During the council proceeding, city staff described the 0.34-acre property as a nonoperational former car wash near single-family homes. The existing structure would be demolished.
The approved concept included three service bays, an approximately 225-square-foot office and no onsite vehicle storage. The building was limited to 20 feet in height.
Openings on the east and south sides were restricted, and enhanced landscaping was intended to buffer nearby uses.
Objections and an unsettled food-truck plan
The council hearing documented concerns about noise, pollution, neighborhood compatibility, parking and the concentration of automobile-oriented uses.
The applicant told council that the repair center would focus on oil changes. He also said he intended to offer the existing barbecue food truck a place on the property, but the reviewed records do not establish a final food-truck arrangement.
Another recent Garland construction filing covers a $650,000 addition at the Master Hatters manufacturing facility.
