Plano teacher arrested on child-sex-abuse charge; what police told families

Local reports attribute the arrest information to Plano police and relay guidance for families while separating the allegation from a proven finding.

Published 1 minute read

Plano police arrested a Brinker Elementary teacher on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to reports from NBC 5 and KERA that attribute the case information to police.

NBC 5 reported the arrest and charge based on information from Plano police. The child is not identified here.

Custody status and guidance to families

KERA reported that the teacher was transferred to the Collin County Jail and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14. KERA described the charge as a first-degree felony.

KERA also reported that a Plano police spokesperson advised parents whose children were previously taught by the accused teacher to consider speaking with them.

The reports describe an allegation and an arrest, not a proven finding of guilt. A criminal charge is not a conviction.

This account omits the child’s identity and does not include details beyond the arrest, custody status, charge and guidance attributed to police.
