Planned $2.8 million Oak Point daycare has unresolved FM 720 access issue

City records place the planned daycare at FM 720 and Martop Road, with civil planning underway and a TxDOT access variance still unresolved.

A planned Primrose daycare in Oak Point is listed as a privately funded, $2.8 million new-construction project, while city records show that a required variance for access from FM 720 remains unresolved.

The state project registration and Oak Point’s planning record describe the same development at Chaparral Plaza Lot 1, at the southwest corner of FM 720 and Martop Road.

Plans approved, access still conditional

Oak Point’s July 7 record says plans for the Primrose daycare are approved and the project is in civil planning.

The city recommended conditional final-plat approval because the proposed FM 720 access point still required a variance from the Texas Department of Transportation.

Together, the records establish the project’s location, estimated construction cost and current planning stage while identifying road access as an unfinished approval issue.

The records do not give an opening date, enrollment capacity or hiring details.
