The registration adds a current state estimate to a trail connection Grand Prairie has planned for years, but it does not establish a construction award or completion date.
What the trail is intended to connect
A 2020 Grand Prairie record described Centreport Trail Phase II as the city’s final Regional Veloweb segment. The planned route would connect Mike Lewis Park with trails in the CentrePort area and the Trinity Railway Express station.
That record included a $4.6 million approval and an earlier schedule. Those figures are historical planning details and should not be treated as a current total cost or completion timeline.
How the Fort Worth funding differs
A separate Fort Worth agenda from January 2026 proposed increasing that city’s funding agreement for CentrePort Trail Phase II to as much as $15,885,596. The proposal included up to $1,502,925 in Fort Worth participation.
That Fort Worth agreement is separate from Grand Prairie’s $16.7 million state registration. The similar project names and figures do not establish that the records cover the same scope or represent one combined budget.
The state record’s role is similar to the $5.1 million filing tied to Sherrill Park Golf Course: it provides an estimated project cost.
