Dallas-Fort Worth is forecast to stay hot and rain-free through the coming week, with triple-digit temperatures becoming more widespread by Tuesday.

How the heat builds

The National Weather Service forecast discussion projects regional highs ranging from the upper 90s to about 104 or 105 degrees by Tuesday. Heat-index values are expected to reach 100 to 110 on most days.

For the DFW point forecast, the weather service listed a high of 102 degrees Sunday and 103 Monday. Overnight lows near 81 to 82 degrees will provide limited relief.

Additional heat advisories will likely be needed during much of the week. An earlier DFW heat advisory forecast a heat index as high as 108, providing context for the recurring heat concerns.
